Due to the high level of interest in the re-introduction of the Club’s Pro-Am, the competition is now full and any new entries will be put onto a reserve list.
Next year’s event will be held in the Summer on Friday 22 July 2011 so please put in you diary so as not to be disappointed.

NEW MEMBERS GOLF COMPETITION 11th SEPTEMBER 2010
There will be a competition on Saturday 11 September from 2pm for new members who joined the Club in 2010 (men) and 2010 and 2009 (ladies). It will be in the format of an individual stableford, full handicap, with prizes for winners.
There is an entry sheet on the notice board in the Spike Bar (by the new members ladder) and also one in the Ladies Locker room. Please come and join in and meet other new members as well as the Club Captain and committee members who will be present.
The closing date for entries is Saturday 28 August and a start sheet will be issued on Tuesday 7 September.

CHANGE OF DATES FOR COMPETITIONS
Congratulations to the A Team for winning th South Lincs League. They will now play the winners of the North Lincs League in the League Finals at Belton Park on Sunday 3rd October.
In order to allow as many members to go along and support our team (without missing a competition) the Golf Committee has agreed that the competition scheduled for that date will be moved back by one week as will all subsequent competitions.
The new dates areas follows:-
SUNDAY 3rd OCTOBER - League Finals - No Competition at Burghley
SUNDAY 10th OCTOBER - LCP I
SUNDAY 17th OCTOBER - LCP II
SUNDAY 24th OCTOBER - LCP III
SUNDAY 31st OCTOBER - Daily Mail Foursomes

Burghley Park Mixed Open - 1st August 2010.
The Mixed Open last Sunday attracted the usual full field of 168 players from a record 45 different Clubs. Played over 18 holes in Better Ball Stableford format, scoring was excellent. The prizes were for 1st to 6th place.
Although the weather and course condition were constant, all the winners came from the second half of the draw. The winners Vaughan Lutkin and Denise Lambert with 47 points were from Thorpe Wood, 2nd place home pair Pat Harris and Derrick Wade with 46 points on countback from home pair Pip and Peter Beeke 3rd place with 46 points. 4th place John and Liz draper from Bridlington with 43 points, 5th place Pat and Roger Lugsdin from Blankney with 42 points on countback from Elaine and John Cardwell who were 6th from Brampton Park with 42 points.

NICK GLOVER BAGS TROPHY AND COURSE RECORD
Nick Glover one of the successful Burghley Park A Team, played two remarkable rounds on Sunday 29 June in the 36 hole Scratch Open to win both the nett and gross scores and the Quincentenary Cup.
Not only that but Nick scorched an afternoon round of 65, thereby achieving a course record and rounding off a very successful day.

THE CLUB MAKES IT 3 WITH RECIPROCAL ARRANGEMENTS
The Club is pleased to announce the following benefit to Gentlemen and Lady 7 day members at three presigious golf clubs, which are not too many miles away.
a. Stowmarket Golf Club
The arrangement is for one tee time per week, per Club with a maximum of four players. This is available during British Summer Time and is limited to Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays.
b. Saffron Walden Golf Club
A maximum of 12 members per week may visit the Club in either a 3 x 4 or 4 x 3 ball format. This facility is available by prior arrangement through the Club Secretary. The days that are excluded in this arrangement are Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.
c. Beeston Fields Golf Club
A maximum of 12 members per week may visit the Club in either a 3 x 4 or 4 x 3 ball format. This facility is available by prior arrangement through the Club Secretary. The days that are excluded in this arrangement are Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

 'Burghley Park at the Forefront'
The Club has teamed up with Forefront Marketing to provide new tee markers, provided by sponsorship from local companies and firms organised by Forefront. The tee markers have now been installed ready for the Easter Weekend and together with the new tee posts make an impressive addition to the teeing areas.
