Great Yarmouth & Caister Golf Club

Great Yarmouth & Caister Golf Club is situated just north of Great Yarmouth and south of Caister slap bang in the middle of Great Yarmouth Racecourse. Keep your eye on the Race Day calendar because these are the days that you won’t be able to play.

Founded in 1882 the club is the oldest club in Norfolk and likes to be described as “the Home of Bogey”. The full 18-hole course was originally laid out by the notable North Berwick professional, Tom Dunn.

Although classed as a traditional links experience, playing within the plastic racing rails doesn’t remind me of Troon, Muirfield or Carnoustie. There are of course a number of other great links courses in Norfolk such as Sheringham , Royal West Norfolk and Hunstanton.

The par 70 plays at 6330 yards from the white tees and is actually one of the shorter courses in Norfolk .

Great Yarmouth & Caister Golf Club

Great Yarmouth & Caister Golf Club is a friendly private members club and welcomes visitors golf societies and corporate groups throughout the year
The sandy soil means that the course open and playable virtually throughout the year.

Over the many years we have enjoyed playing the course. There are some tough holes and when the East wind blows they can prove quite a challenge. Our opinion, If you are visiting Great Yarmouth and play golf try it out but remember to avoid race days.
